When tradies wants to play a prank on an apprentice, they often send them to another location to fetch them a “long weight”. The inexperienced Apprentice will actually believe he is getting a tool of some sort, but in the end will just come out looking like one. It is an unspoken rule that if an apprentice comes to you looking for a Long Wait that you will tell them you’ll be right back and leave them sit for at least ten minutes.
